Move beyond basics in this drop-in session designed for intermediate learners!
Level up your sumo wrestling skills in this drop-in designed for intermediate learners. This fast-paced session skips the basics and builds on technique.
This session is good for:
- Casual or regular Sumo Sundays attendees who want to build on existing knowledge/skills/techniques
- First-time attendees who have basic knowledge of sumo and/or other martial arts and who feel comfortable jumping into a higher-intensity session
We encourage folks of all sizes and genders to participate. Priced at $15-22 (+ fees) on a sliding scale. Max. 14 people per session.
This session is led by Shane Pecknold (he/him). Over 10 years, Shane has competed in eight sumo tournaments at Powell Street Festival and has co-coordinated the tournament and workshops since 2016. Having a varied background and a deep passion for martial arts in general, he has found unique ways to train getting ready for tournaments over the years. Shane has instructed with Sumo Sundays since its founding in 2022.
